Web link for Rachel's Hollies review
AN Evening Star interview and concert review are
receiving global recognition on the internet.
The interview, with Hollies drummer Bobby Elliott, and a review of a recent concert by The Hollies at the Regent Theatre, both written by reporter Rachel Banham, are featured on the band' s own website.
Pictures of the live show, taken by Star photographer John Kerr, are also included.
The site is run by Rob Haywood, 47 a long-term follower of the band.
'I have been a fan since they started,' he said.
'I followed the music, then I followed the band. I have got to be friends with them.
'The site is a general information service for anybody who wants to look at it. It's a medium which is going to be used more and more.
'I have contacts now in virtually every country you could think about. They like to know what is happening with the band.
'As this (the Star story) was such a good story it is worth putting on there.'
The Hollies website
contains details of every record the band recorded, words of songs, album tracks, tour details and information on venues, as well as contributions from fans.
Fans from the USA have even been able to book tickets after seeing details of British venues on Rob's site!
Drummer Bobby told the Star the Hollies gigs on their current 40-date tour are going well.
'The tour is settling down nicely now,' he said. 'We have tried to improve the distribution of sound throughout theatres.
'Touring is what we enjoy doing. Everybody is getting on well and the crew are happy.'
n The Hollies web site can be found at www.hollies.co.uk and visitors to that site can also link to the Star's own on-line paper. But don't forget that you can also access the Star website directly at www.EveningStar.co.uk.
