Firetrace is a simple self-activating system, specifically designed for installation inside enclosures, cabinets and machinery housings to trigger automatically and extinguish fires at source. It is ideal for any application where potential fire risk is located within an enclosed or confined space.
How does it work?
  • Firetrace employs a flexible detection and delivery system called Firetrace Tubing.
  • The tubing is manufactured from especially processed polymer materials to achieve desired heat detection and delivery characteristics.
  • The Firetrace tubing, which is pressurised, is placed within an enclosed area above potential fire hazards and secured in place with fixings provided.
  • Extinguishing mediums can be matched to the particular application. Various canister sizes are available and are supplied attached to the Firetrace tubing.
  • When a fire occurs and touches the tubing, the Firetrace tube wall softens and bursts at the hottest point allowing swift and accurate delivery of the extinguishing medium to the source of the fire.
Why is it so effective?
Because the detection tubing is installed within the protected equipment, it can detect and extinguish a fire in its earliest stages , and as it employs no sensitive electronic detection devices, is unaffected be humidity, dirt or turbulent airflow.
Pressurised Firetrace tube is routed both over and around the protected area (avoiding surfaces above 80c ambient). When a fire occurs, the tube will soften and burst at its hottest point allowing swift and accurate delivery of the extinguishant direct to the source of the fire and simultaneously trigger alarms or shutdown relays.
Extinguishing mediums can be matched to suit a particular application.
Various canister sizes are available and are supplied pre-charged and fitted with the appropriate length of Firetrace tube.
